An award winnig garden with tailor made floating steeping stones and vegetated front yard.

A statement piece and an award-winning design; our Landscape design Auburn Garden won 2021’s Nic van Diemen Design Award! This stunning landscape is a timeless design that effortlessly ties the feature entryway, lush with drift plantings, together with the superb walkthrough to the rear terraced garden.

The layering of greenery, succinct lighting strategies, and high-quality finish in materials such as the Bluestone, Corten steel, Blue Mountain Ledgestone, and warm timbers enhanced the harmonious sensorial continuity for our clients to enjoy for many years to come.

The grey floating bluestone with detail led lighting enhancing the floating feel.

The centrepiece floating steps are adorned with delicate Dichondra argenta and two handsome flowering deciduous trees, Lagerstromia indica ‘Natchez’, provide shade and privacy to the frontage. Mixed perennials including the flowering Iris ‘Yellow Flag’ and Anigozanthos ‘Frosty Yellow’ provide softness and texture.

At the top of the naturally sloping garden bed are sculpted Buxus and Westringia fruticose balls, anchoring the rest of the drift plantings to the steps.

The use of greyish bluestone pavings and stepping stones work in harmony with the evergreen vegetations and the steel edging.

Our Landscaping Auburn front garden captures one’s attention with clean functional levels easily traversable with a sequence of floating Bluestone steps. The concrete formwork that held each step in place was shaped flawlessly to create a sense of visual freeness between each rise. The formwork also had a recess pre-built in to house the LED strip light under each floating step.

The greyish Bluestone paving ground and stepping stones matching with the dark grey stone masonry wall.

Our Landscape design Auburn Garden takes inspiration from ‘Adorned by Nature’ guidelines which promotes lushness in planting textures. A large retaining wall in Blue Mountain Ledgestone with a Corten steel retaining wrap-around allowed for a level walkway against the house frontage.

Stunning white egg pots contrast beautifully on the porch adjacent to the end of the steps. Leading from the Bluestone clad porch, a series of Bluestone steppers surrounded by green synthetic lawn wrap around the front forming the side pathway.

Side walkway is decorated with metal screens for climbing greenery, interlocked with hardwood timber columns.

The side walkway leads around the house via a warm timber composite deck and a smartly detailed yet simple hardwood timber pergola that provides cover, fragranced climbing greenery, and privacy. In the rear garden, generously spaced Lilly Pillys sit behind delicate waterfalls of grey-green Dichondra argenta spilled over the retaining walls.

Broad-leafed Monstera deliciosa and Xanadu philodendron created a luscious backdrop to the entertaining area. Finally, encompassing our Landscape design Auburn Garden all are the ever-beautiful climbers trained either on the walls or on vertical meshes binding together this pocket retreat. Landscaping Auburn Gardens was a work of love and dedication for our team at PATH. You can see our award here!
