A Japanese influenced garden in front of a modern design architecture, surrounded by green and purple vegetation.

Responding to our clients’ desire to revitalise their family frontage of 25 years, Corinella Garden introduces a fresh landscape with a functional Japanese influence. The design done by PATH improves street appeal, security and functionality while respecting the history of the homeowners and their established garden.

Black picket fence giving off a subtle but elegant feeling alongside with the boulders and vegetation.

Along the front boundary, a new fence with 300mm high rendered walls and finished black steel ‘blade’ style infills set between pillars to complement the home.

The pedestrian entry gate and automated driveway gate continue the same black steel detailing, creating a cohesive material and colour palette. A new 2m-high timber paling fence along the left-hand boundary provides additional privacy and security from the adjacent public space.

Entering through the pedestrian gate reveals a lush landscape filled with deep green plantations, touches of red foliage and consciously repurposed natural boulders. Many of the original established trees were retained, preserving history within the redesigned garden. The layering of plants and the addition of six Acer ‘Japanese Maple’ trees completed the soft planting artistically.

The dark charcoal concrete pathways and black mulch immediately capture and enhance attention on the curved walkway. Steel join strips incorporated into the front entry steps gently emphasize their lines and shapes.

The extra wide driveway serves both as a practical vehicle drop-off area and a display space for the client’s car collection. 

The garden lighting casting shadows and enhancing the texture of feature boulders.

At dusk, the magic begins with the garden lighting up via the smart home system. Integrated pathway lights, step lights and garden uplighting highlight the planting and architectural elements, bring a new exquisiteness within the landscape each evening.

Subtle vegetations are planted in this garden, creating a mature, beautiful environment.
