Entirely refreshing the perimeter of this magnificent mansion in the historically cultured Hawthorn, PATH adeptly combined hard and soft edges to create a masterpiece of style and serenity.
Highlighting the classical architectural design the surrounding gardens, pathways, water features and pool give instant peace and calm.
The front garden Landscape Design presents us with a low-clipped Buxus hedge giving rise to the client’s favourite: a rose garden. The entrance to the house is flanked by a pair of French cast iron feature urns surrounded with a mass of red Nandina for added colour. This royal entrance is paved with herringbone patterned brick pavers and Turkish Travertine picture frame border to compliment the house façade.
Our focus in the rear garden is immediately captured by a generous-size solar heated swimming pool with built-in LED lights. This is comfortably encompassed by a leveled pool deck for sun lounges and open sitting area. Turkish Travertine pavers lighten up the space, with hidden-shadow-drainage under the Travertine stones for the subtle finish. A minimalistic custom copper outdoor shower is located nearby for convenience.
Evergreen Ficus hedge under-planted with fragranced white Gardenia line the boundary lifting us over the spacious open lawn. Fully automated irrigated system for all garden beds and lawn areas. All elements lending themselves to easy maintenance.
The impressive front fence is structured with rendered brick columns, bridged by wrought-iron sections and complimented with self attaching Boston Ivy climber trained up vertically, softening the wall. For privacy Portuguese Laurel hedge lines the fence, under-planted with white Hydrangeas emanating a subtle and sweet fragrance in the warmer months.
Decorative removable timber screens hide the service area whilst an interior window looks onto a shallow bowl water-feature cascading water into the fish pond below. A water feature backed with a vertical steel mesh trained with climbing Star Jasmine, emits the intoxicating fragrance of spring. Tall deciduous pear trees shade the house from the hot afternoon summer sun; in winter letting warm sunlight into the house.

For effortless outdoor entertaining, an area with Functional ‘L’ shaped kitchen with built-in stainless steel sink, BBQ and burner. Surrounded by open greenery, overlooking the pool and grass area, a panoramic view of the rear garden. Frameless blue toughened pool glass in accordance with the BCA code of practice.
For more intimate gathering, an additional outdoor area also graces the premises. A timber deck below us, overhead an open timber pergola of stainless steel cables trained with White Wisteria nests us in nature. At the touch of a button, added warmth radiates from the cantered gas fire feature.
