Name:

Pineview Garden

Status:

Completed

Location:

Lysterfield, Victoria

Project Scale:

Large Garden

A garden under the dawn, where the light brights up the natural design garden bed and feature boulders.

Transforming the elevated topography into a harmonious landscape, Pineview Garden challenges the bold combination of natural materials and contemporary detailing. The project responds to significant changes in elevation while celebrating locally sourced materials and the character of its natural setting with lush greenery, redefining the essence of outdoor living.

The raw treated timber plank seating, matching the design of natural looking plantations and boulders..
The roughness of the garden bed edge boulders alongside the stone steps is manifested clearly under the sun rays.
The warm color plants and red bricks brings together a warm but natural feeling over the large rough boulders.

The site rises approximately 3.8m from the street towards the residence, anchoring the design with an air of grandeur. Locally sourced sawn Basalt entrance steps navigate the change in level, with each step carefully constructed to a 170mm rise with exquisite craftsmanship.

An upcycled railway sleeper bench introduces rustic charm and reflects the project’s approach to reveal the beauty of local nature.

The combination of green plantations and red leaves create a natural autumn looking scenery in this garden.

Large natural rock boulders perform a dual role as both landscape features and retaining structures. Their magnificence is highlighted by strategically positioned Corten steel planters and edging, creating an interplay between organic forms and industrial materials, crafting a robust boundary that seamlessly blends natural ruggedness with an industrial flair.

The red brick and white tiber corridor matches with the color tone of the overall garden, creating a warm social space in this place.
The natural looking stepping stone with dichondra silver falls growing in between.

As visitors move through the garden, layers of planting unfold, from clipped Westringia ‘Coastal Rosemary’ balls to drifts of native planting, creating a living tapestry that evolves with each step. Dichondra ‘Silver Fall’ grows around organic Bluestone steppers, creating a natural transition through the garden. Strategically positioned lighting highlights the planting, steps and stonework, transforms the garden into an enchanting spectacle after dusk.A concrete side-access ramp provides practical access throughout the site, while neatly clipped Buxus hedging around the porch introduces a more classical element close to the residence.

The steel metal edging act as a design decoration in this garden bed, creating a raising garden pot on the slope, which looks natural and low effort.

At the outside of house there is seating overlooking outward the front garden, looking to the naturally planted short shrubs.
