A garden with pergola, garden furnitures and water feature, surrounded by lush vegetation.

PATH Design Studio’s Feature Show Garden, displayed at the Pool & Spa Melbourne Exhibition Centre, was an exceptional showcase of PATH’s expertise in designing and creating stunning outdoor spaces.

The Show Garden was commissioned by the Master Pool Builders Association Australia and perfectly captured the idea of a pocket oasis, an outdoor space designed to be enjoyed throughout the seasons. PATH Design Studio created a highly functional garden that felt lush and intimate, while retaining the flexibility to unfold into a larger residential landscape.

The Show Garden was developed in collaboration with a range of excellent suppliers who helped bring the design to life. The PATH team worked closely with each supplier to ensure that high-quality materials were integrated in a way that complemented the overall landscape design.

The result was a gorgeous example of how PATH Design Studio combines modern design with traditional elements to create a unique outdoor space. Clean architectural lines and contemporary materials were combined with traditional garden elements. Outdoor appliances, synthetic lawn and a striking automatic louvred pergola system immediately drew attention.

The multilayered planting was selected to create depth and texture, combining tall screening bamboo, feature Lagerstroemia ‘Crepe Myrtles’, evergreen shrubs and flowering perennials. Taller planting provided privacy and enclosure, while lower planting maintained a sense of openness throughout the central spaces.

Built-in daybeds and cantilevered wrap-around benches provided ample seating while remaining integrated into the architecture of the garden. Clean finishes and contemporary materials reinforced the refined modernity and sophistication of these elements.

A carefully designed water feature introduced the calming sound of moving water, with sculptural spouts cascading into a small pond. The feature created a peaceful focal point within the otherwise busy exhibition setting. Together, the layered planting, integrated seating, daybeds and water feature worked in harmony to create a calm and timeless retreat.

PATH Design Studio was delighted to receive the ‘Best in Show’ award for the Feature Show Garden. The award recognised the studio’s commitment to creating outdoor spaces that successfully combine aesthetics, functionality and detailed design.
