Venturing into the captivating realm of Serpentine Garden, where the convergence of artistry and functionality reveals a landscape masterpiece that surpasses the ordinary. This captivating local project weaves together design finesse and practicality, creating a harmonious timeless haven.

In the front garden, a unique white pebbled garden sets the stage, offering a low-maintenance oasis with weed matting beneath the pebbles. Pink granite boulder rocks add a touch of natural elegance, concealing a large stormwater pit underneath—a testament to thoughtful design that goes beyond the surface.

As you wander through this curated space, drifts of Agastache ‘Sweet Lili’ and Royal Purple Liriope bloom, while clipped balls of Westringia Coastal Rosemary and Westringia Blue Gem dot the white pebbled front garden, creating a symphony of colors and textures.

The front garden floating steps, crafted in composite timber, add a modern touch, leading the way through the meticulously planned garden. Whitehorse City Council granted approval for the removal and replanting of 2 trees, with a Blueberry Ash and a Yellow Bloodwood taking root as per the Notice of Decision (NOD).

In the rear garden, a large composite deck takes centre stage, permitted and certified by Whitehorse City Council. This versatile space includes a sunken lounge, under-deck storage, and even conceals a substantial stormwater pump required by engineers. A concrete block retaining wall frames the space, while an aluminum freestanding pergola with built-in louvers and LED lighting adds both form and function. Tall Bamboo ‘Gracilis’ hedges provide a natural screen, ensuring privacy and tranquillity. Throughout the garden, an irrigation system adds the finishing touch, nurturing the landscape to flourish.

Serpentine Garden is not just another project; it’s a narrative of thoughtful design, approved by Whitehorse City Council, woven into every element. Immerse yourself in the allure of Serpentine Garden.

Elevating the landscape to new heights, Bulleen Garden epitomises the seamless integration of design ingenuity and natural topography. Developed in collaboration with custom house builder Latitude 37, this project navigates significant level changes, showcasing a harmonious blend of modern aesthetics and practical construction solutions.

The front fence stands as a testament to innovation—a lightweight construction foam wall in a rendered finish adds contemporary elegance and serves as a canvas to the design. A curved wall graces the landscape, mirroring the sophisticated façade design and creating a visual echo that resonates with the overall architectural narrative.

The landscape’s backbone is the robust concrete sleeper retaining wall demonstrating a fusion of strength and style that masters topographical challenges and adds a sculptural dimension to the outdoor space. The challenge of an 700mm narrow site access also encapsulated the intricacies of construction.

As you traverse the grounds, the exposed aggregate concrete underfoot offers a tactile connection to the raw beauty of the landscape. Bulleen Garden is a symphony of innovation, where every challenge meets creative solutions, and every design element narrates a story of collaboration and craftsmanship.

Embarking on a journey of urban landscape mastery, La Trobe Street Apartments stand as a testament to the seamless fusion of design brilliance and metropolitan allure. While the construction prowess was expertly handled by Normark Landscapes, the design and documentation for the Ground Floor and Level 7 Green Roof were crafted by PATH which was a pivotal step toward creating an outdoor haven within the heart of Melbourne. With an Approved Town Planning design, stamped by the City of Melbourne, this project unravels as a celebration of contemporary living.

For the Ground Floor, we detailed plants, paving, and planter boxes, creating an aesthetically flowing, low maintenance, transitionary space. The Level 7 Green Roof was envisioned to resemble the outlines of sun rays when viewed from the surrounding high-rise apartments, this rooftop oasis features a synthetic lawn covering, embracing both the roof and walls. Adding a touch of artistic finesse, the design incorporated ‘Tuscan Topping’ rock ballast, strategically arranged to symbolize the sun’s rays. Planter boxes, ingeniously equipped with a built-in irrigation system, complete the rooftop panorama.

Designed for practical elegance, these outdoor spaces are adorned with low maintenance features, showcasing synthetic lawn coverings and artificial plants. It’s not just an aesthetic choice; it’s a commitment to an effortlessly chic environment that persists in the heart of the city.

La Trobe Street Apartments transcend the ordinary, offering a retreat within the urban fabric.

LYSTERFIELD GARDEN LANDSCAPE DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION & MAINTENANCE

Transforming the topography into a harmonious haven, Lysterfield Garden is a testament to the marriage of natural elements and contemporary design. This landscape project, undertaken with meticulous precision, unfolds a narrative of elevation changes, locally sourced materials, and lush greenery that redefine the essence of outdoor living.

The 3.8m high-level rise from the street towards the home is a bold statement, anchoring the design with an air of grandeur. Ascending these heights are the locally sourced Sawn Basalt entrance steps, each a 170mm rise in testament to the masonry craftsmanship.

The Upcycle railway sleeper bench seating provides a rustic charm, a nod to sustainability that invites you to linger and savour the surroundings.

The grandeur of the large rock boulders, serving dual roles as retaining walls, is heightened by the strategic placement of core-ten steel planters and edging. This arrangement orchestrates a captivating interplay of textures, skilfully crafting a robust boundary that seamlessly blends natural ruggedness with an industrial flair.

As you traverse the garden, the layers of greenery unfold – from clipped Westringia balls to drifts of native planting, creating a living tapestry that evolves with each step. The Dichondra embraces the organic round bluestone steppers, accentuated by strategically placed lighting that transforms the garden into an enchanting spectacle after dusk.

The concrete ramp side access invites you to explore every nook and cranny of this curated space, while the neat Buxus hedge around the porch adds a touch of classic elegance.

Lysterfield Garden is not just a landscape project; it’s a symphony of elements orchestrated to create a living masterpiece. From the locally sourced materials to the sustainable seating, every facet tells a story of craftsmanship, sustainability, and timeless beauty.

PATH Design Studio’s Feature Show Garden, displayed at the Pool & Spa Melbourne Exhibition Centre, was an exceptional showcase of PATH’s expertise in designing and creating stunning outdoor spaces.

The Show Garden was commissioned by the Master Pool Builders Association Australia and it perfectly encapsulated the pocket oasis garden; a glimpse into an outdoor space that can be enjoyed in all seasons. PATH Design Studio created a highly-functional garden that was lush and condensed yet had the flexibility to unfold into a larger garden space.

The Show Garden was a collaboration between PATH Design Studio and a range of excellent suppliers, who helped to bring
the design to life. The team at PATH Design Studio worked closely with each supplier to ensure that the materials used were
of the highest quality and that they were used in a way that complemented the overall design.

The result was a gorgeous example of how PATH Design Studio combines modern design with traditional elements to
create a unique outdoor space. Clean lines and contemporary materials used alongside more traditional elements elevated
the Show Garden into the extraordinary. Robust outdoor appliances, a synthetic green lawn, and a striking automatic
louvered pergola system captured attention immediately.

The multilayered greenery in PATH Design Studio’s Feature Show Garden was carefully chosen to provide a sense of depth
and texture, with a mix of tall screening bamboo, feature Crepe Myrtles, evergreen shrubs, and perennials that provided
beautiful blooms throughout the seasons. The plants were arranged in a way that created a natural flow throughout the
space, with taller plants used to create a sense of privacy and intimacy, while lower plants were used to create a sense of
openness and space

In addition to the lush greenery, the Show Garden featured inbuild daybeds and cantilevered wrap-around benches that
would provide ample seating space. These benches were thoughtfully designed to be both functional and attractive, with clean
finishings, and contemporary materials used to create a sense of modernity and sophistication.

The sounds of tranquil water came from the stunning water feature carefully designed to create a sense of harmony with
the surrounding landscape, with striking spouts that cascaded the water into a small pond. It made the space the perfect
retreat for those seeking a peaceful oasis in the midst of a bustling show.

Overall, the multilayered greenery, cantilevered wrap-around benches, inbuilt daybeds, and sounds of tranquil water
worked in perfect harmony to create a timeless and calm retreat. The Show Garden was designed to be a space where
guests could imagine relaxing and unwinding, surrounded by the natural beauty of the lush greenery and the tranquil
sounds of water.

PATH Design Studio was thrilled to receive the “Best in Show” award for their feature show garden. The award was a
testament to PATH expertise in designing and creating fabulous outdoor spaces that are both aesthetic and functional. The
team was delighted to be recognized for their hard work and dedication, and look forward to continuing to create many
beautiful outdoor spaces for their clients.

The colour palette is again carried through with the timber paling fences painted in Dulux ‘Domino’ colour. 2021 AWARD-WINNING GARDEN, AUBURN GARDEN LANDSCAPE DESIGN

Landscape Design Auburn

A statement piece and an award-winning design; our Landscape design Auburn Garden won 2021’s Nic van Diemen Design Award! This stunning landscape is a timeless design that effortlessly ties the feature entryway, lush with drift plantings, together with the superb walkthrough to the rear terraced garden.

The layering of greenery, succinct lighting strategies, and high-quality finish in materials such as the Bluestone, Corten steel, Blue Mountain Ledgestone, and warm timbers enhanced the harmonious sensorial continuity for our clients to enjoy for many years to come.

Our Landscaping Auburn front garden captures one’s attention with clean functional levels easily traversable with a sequence of floating Bluestone steps. The concrete formwork that held each step in place was shaped flawlessly to create a sense of visual freeness between each rise. The formwork also had a recess pre-built in to house the LED strip light under each floating step.

The centrepiece floating steps are adorned with delicate Dichondra argenta and two handsome flowering deciduous trees, Lagerstromia indica ‘Natchez’, provide shade and privacy to the frontage. Mixed perennials including the flowering Iris ‘Yellow Flag’ and Anigozanthos ‘Frosty Yellow’ provide softness and texture.

At the top of the naturally sloping garden bed are sculpted Buxus and Westringia fruticose balls, anchoring the rest of the drift plantings to the steps.

Our Landscape design Auburn Garden takes inspiration from ‘Adorned by Nature’ guidelines which promotes lushness in planting textures. A large retaining wall in Blue Mountain Ledgestone with a Corten steel retaining wrap-around allowed for a level walkway against the house frontage.

Stunning white egg pots contrast beautifully on the porch adjacent to the end of the steps. Leading from the Bluestone clad porch, a series of Bluestone steppers surrounded by green synthetic lawn wrap around the front side of the house forming the side pathway.

The side walkway leads around the house via a warm timber composite deck and a smartly detailed yet simple hardwood timber pergola that provides cover, fragranced climbing greenery, and privacy. In the rear garden, generously spaced Lilly Pillys sit behind delicate waterfalls of grey-green Dichondra argenta spilled over the retaining walls.

Broad-leafed Monstera deliciosa and Xanadu philodendron created a luscious backdrop to the entertaining area. Finally, encompassing our Landscape design Auburn Garden all are the ever-beautiful climbers trained either on the walls or on vertical meshes binding together this pocket retreat. This gorgeous Alderford Garden Landscape Design is a timeless creation with an aesthetically pleasing symmetrical frontage leading through to a purposeful family entertaining area seamlessly incorporated into the rear of the home. Set back from the street’s pathway, varying heights of deep green drifts created with evergreen shrubs back onto a low hedge of Portuguese Laurel.

Landscape Design & Construction Alderford Garden

All this sits afront a stunning 1.2m high fence with dark charcoal metal work and rendered pillars matching the house façade. In the middle, there is a modern entry gate centred on the home’s French entry doors, and to the left-hand side, an automated sliding gate in the same sleek charcoal metal work as the front fence.

Coming off the street and entering through the central gate, one’s line of sight is drawn down the bluestone path to the large French double-entry house doors. The symmetrical border planting leading down the pathway as well as the two beautiful pink blooming Crepe Myrtles on either side invite us in and accentuate the balanced serenity of the front garden.

The boundary fences on either side of the front garden are also a striking highlight in ‘Domino’ black and serve to emphasize the emerald-colored evergreen Fig hedge on the right-hand side. Precise attention was taken when constructing micro details such as concrete corner cut-outs and steel garden-bed edging to complete this clean seamless frontage.

The rear garden and surrounds focus firmly on the aesthetic viewing from within the home and the practical functionality of the entertaining space to bring a sense of extended tranquillity that goes beyond the building’s footprint. The views from the kitchen window and across from the Merbau timber deck area are heightened by the vertical growing Bambusa textillis. This elegant screening plant brings light and fresh greenery to the eyes and the sound of rustling fine leaves to the ears.

Assimilating our clients desired to revitalise their family frontage of 25 years with functional Japanese influence resulting in this stunning transformation of Corinella’s front garden.

The enhanced street appeal, additional security, and upcycling of materials done by PATH are in complement to the history of the homeowners and their garden’s fresh new beginnings.

Corinella Garden Landscape Design

The entry and automated driveway gate are in the same black steel design cohesively tying the build forms colour p alettes together. A new 2m high timber paling fence on the left-hand side provides additional security from the adjacent public space.

Hugging the front boundary is a new front fence with 300mm high walls and black steel ‘blade’ infills set between pillars rendered to match the home.

Entering through the pedestrian gate transports us to a lush space speckled with deep greens, dapples of red foliage, and consciously re-purposed rock boulders. Many of the originally established trees were also retained to add a richness of history to the garden. The layering of plants and the addition of six Japanese Maple trees completed the soft planting artistically.

The dark charcoal of the concrete pathways together with the black mulch accentuated and meandered one’s views through the curving walkway. The step treads leading up to the front door are also gently emphasized with thin steel join strips.

The extra wide driveway doubles as both a drive-in drop-off zone and as a show space for the client’s car collection.

At dusk, the magic begins with the garden lighting up via the smart home system. The integrated pathway lights, step lights, and garden bed up-lights bring a new exquisiteness to the unique landscape every evening.
